National Savings & Investments recently launched an advertising campaign to try to reunite its customers with £435m that is sitting in lost and forgotten accounts.
It is the first time the Government-backed savings and investment provider has advertised its tracing service, which has already reunited 43,000 people with £42m since its launch in 2001. So-called 'dormant' accounts are defined as current or deposit accounts where there has been no customer activity for at least 15 years.
